This Finnish full body treatment is rooted in Finnish history and folklore, and was re-discovered in the 1960’s. It is a gentle but very powerful treatment that can assist with the healing of a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions.
The aim of a mobilisation treatment is to recover a person’s essential body functions. This is achieved by treating the imbalances or abnormalities in the client’s body. The kinetic chain of the musculoskeletal system is treated using the natural movements of the body and limbs.
Once the imbalances or malfunctions in the body have been corrected the body’s entire energetic system, the circulation of blood and tissue fluids, and neural function are all restored to their natural state.
In many cases the client’s body has been suffering from a series of imbalances for months, and in some cases for years. This is why a series of treatments need to be conducted so that the body can re-learn correct positions of holding itself together.
An important point to note here is that the structure and the function of the human body has to be treated comprehensively; in other words, a painful shoulder will not be treated in isolation. It is the job of the therapist to ascertain the root of the body’s problem and analyze the changes that is has made regarding balance factors: joints, ligaments, muscles and bones.
From there, the musculoskeletal system is brought back into balance by:
mobilizing the joints, improving the movement of joints, muscles and ligaments, softening scar tissue, releasing trapped nerves and normalizing the circulation of blood and tissue fluids.
Mobilisation Therapy is a highly effective, and pain free treatment that is suitable for children, adults and even animals. For this reason it has a very high success rate for healing conditions such as, Sciatica, Scoliosis, Tennis and Golfer’s elbow, Frozen shoulder, Migraines/Headaches, and general problems in the back, upper and lower limbs, incorrect posture and imbalance in the length of legs.
It can also assist in more profound healing of the body’s internal organs, respiratory, circulatory systems and neural function by relaxing the soft tissues, mobilizing the joints and vertebrae.
